About The Artist

Bob Bralove is an artist based in San Francisco, the center of a great and thriving gay culture. “Living here people get accustom to the wide, wonderful range of sexual expression. As long as everyone is consenting and enjoying themselves it is accepted. It is my hope that these shirts will spark the imagination, fascinate, maybe titillate, and also add humor to those wearing and seeing them.” says Bralove. “I don’t see sexuality as one dimensional. It is more rich and multilayered than we know. Now that there is so much backlash to sexual freedom it is time to express ourselves loudly. I hope these shirts will help spark conversations and amplify those expressions.“
Bralove started painting after a trip to Italy inspired him to pick up a paint brush and begin painting scenes on his walls. “I was inspired by the painted walls in palaces and told myself you can always whitewash it if you don’t like it.“ He moved from his walls to canvases and paper and hasn’t looked back. He has had shows in galleries across the country. In addition to painting he creates and performs video. One of his multi screen video installations was installed at the Morris Graves Museum of Art in California.
Bralove has a career as musician, sound designer, songwriter, and composer. He has added his artistic touches to the recordings of the Grateful Dead and Stevie Wonder and many others. His musical adventures may be found at bobbralove.com. There you will also see links to videos of what he calls “digital finger painting”, where he performs audio and video simultaneously.
